Those were the days
Whenever you remembered me
A green humming bird
Often came to me
And sat on the orange flowers
That grew on a creeper
Near the cactus
In my garden
We talked of the dreams and desires
But lost our rhymes
In the midway
Silently trying to hear the unheard
Amidst the noise of the wind chimes
Somewhere in between
The weeds grew
Near that creeper
Taller and taller
Deeper and deeper
Wilder than the imagination
Sometimes wild is beautiful..
Today,in leisure
Silently watching through my window grill
Used to the game of lost and found
I saw that bird again
And I know....
You remember me still..
We talked about the melodies
And the ceaseless rains
Of the burning desires
And dreams that drained
Whenever you remembered me
A green humming bird
Often came to me
And sat on the orange flowers
That grew on a creeper
Near the cactus
In my garden
We talked of the dreams and desires
But lost our rhymes
In the midway
Silently trying to hear the unheard
Amidst the noise of the wind chimes
Somewhere in between
The weeds grew
Near that creeper
Taller and taller
Deeper and deeper
Wilder than the imagination
Sometimes wild is beautiful..
Today,in leisure
Silently watching through my window grill
Used to the game of lost and found
I saw that bird again
And I know....
You remember me still..
We talked about the melodies
And the ceaseless rains
Of the burning desires
And dreams that drained
Silence is suffocating
Let words breathe between the spaces....
~~payal~~
Let words breathe between the spaces...
ReplyDeletewow di, theres a strange calmness in this piece, as if of surrender, acceptance, yet a longing...for dreams lost in space...
Last line is the most beautiful.. though it is so small yet it holds such vast significance.. words must Breathe ..
