Burnt leaves

Saharanpur, 2016

Burnt edges of rough curled leaves smelt of invincible rain that somehow stayed back in frozen footsteps on the white shimmering streets.

Strong steady branches that flowered once on a stony path look like ghosts in the night. Sunlight in the morning clears the haze and we quietly indulge in heavenly taste of melted snow.

p.s. This leaf was lying lonely in my dad's garden. He brought it inside, and placed it well along with his favourite money plant. It became my muse for Day 2.

We are celebrating write tribe festival of words#5. Join in the fun here.

Rest

Mussoorie, 2016

Pleasant evenings-
relieved, my heart heaved a sigh.
Clouds kept floating by.

Slow down, rest a while,
get soaked in heavenly bliss.
Magical nature.

Opening my eyes
as I look around,
nature unfolds .
its magic.
Such moments are
not to be missed.

Circle of grace

Gurgaon,2015

In this circle of grace,

Metaphors unfurl,

And dreams awake

in sepia consciousness.

Rainbow iris reflects

the glazing world.

Truly magical !

Moments reflect

the joy of creation.

There are no rights

Or wrongs,

No judgements,

Simple, plain joy.

Healing happens

almost naturally.

Allow!

Close your eyes,

Stay open,

Let the magic begin.

little more gratitude

2015, Delhi

I have much to be thankful for in this moment.

Thankful to God for showing me the power of positivity. How wonderful it is to listen without judgement, specially to friends who believe in us.

We are often amazed by the results when we are least confident.  Thanks to my friends for being open to receive healing and also for letting me know that it’s working for them.

My mom was on bed rest for last two months because of compressed fracture in her spine. Thank God, her life is getting back to normal.

On 18th was our wedding anniversary. It’s been 16 years of learning, of growth, of acceptance, of discovering new dimensions of love and friendship. Thank God for the beautiful bond that we share.
As it's exam time for our daughter, instead of going out for lunch or dinner, my husband and I planned to stay back and cook together. Thank God for the joy of togetherness.

..and last but not the least, Thank God for all the guidance that I receive as I make my choices throughout the day.

Sacred

As soon as I landed in an unknown city, a lotus pond, surrounded by white pebbles, caught my attention.

Ahmedabad,2015

With their graceful presence, the sacred omens guide us wherever we go. I stayed there for a while, observing it closely.

Ahmedabad, 2015

Be receptive of changes, and stay open to learning. Like the heart of lotus, when our hearts are open and pure, we learn and grow.
Ahmedabad,2015
A lotus bud was in process of unfolding its petals. One by one. Slowly, gracefully.
Ahmedabad,2015
....and there bloomed a lotus flower.

Ahmedabad,2015
Poetic verses sparkled on the lotus leaf.

Holding on to positive vibes, and letting go of darkness, I took a deep breath. Journey continues.

A cup of tea

Tea leaves were swirling in pool of hot water and milk. Its’ refreshing aroma was inviting. When tea was ready, Sher Singh poured it in an aluminium kettle and started serving it in kulhar to the old men sitting on wooden bench near the tea stall, talking and laughing. Tea added special flavour to the olden days charm and relationships.

Many college students were drinking their cup of tea, as purity of thoughts sealed in fortress of transparent malleable dreams, while celebrating youth and preparing for future.

An observer, plucked some moments from celebrations, as tea leaves told the story.

Always.. # Day 29

They ask me
what does joy mean to me,

I say
it’s his presence
That fills me with love.

They ask me
what does love mean to me

I say its his essence
that I feel.
Intangible.

They ask me
what do I treasure most

I tell them
It’s our story

Of finding bliss.

They ask me
what is bliss
I believe
The moments in which we create

Memories-
ageless, timeless,

Concealed, revealed,

I tell them honestly,

It’s all about loving unconditionally.

I feel.. #Day 22

                                                                                                                                     2014 image, Gurgaon

When I think of

walking on the lonely sands,

discovering the path,

Spontaneous response

To the tantalizing effects

Of unreasonable quest

Rise from the sand storms.

Bitter symphonies

Play on like a lie.

I feel lost

in search of mirage.

I feel,

I can do anything

I set my mind to,

Or so I believe.

Beneath my skin,

The whispering moon

burns the black forests.

Silence # Day 7

                                                                                                                                                                   2014 image,Pune

As I go deeper and deeper

In my thoughts

A strange silence engulfs me

I sing

I dance

I breathe

I feel free

In that golden

orb of silence.

And then

I hear the noise

I cry

I bleed  profusely

Silently..

Gasping for breath.

Deafening noise

of this venomous silence

Slowly kills me.

I miss that comforting sound

Of throbbing in my heart.

From dark to light

I travel again

One by one

The petals unfold.

I pause

I Reflect

I Learn

In this moment

Of entanglement

As I breathe in peace

And breathe out

All that doesn’t belong to me.

Reborn to relive

The purpose of cosmos.

My muse # Day 2

                                                                               2014 image

When the world is fast asleep
beneath the cover of sparkling stars,
golden hearts dance
to the zephyr tunes
and bathe in moonlight.

Two is more
than a number
for  poet and poetry
as they become one
reflecting each other

Far the melancholic moon rise.
I shall make it my muse tonight
and encipher poetry
behind the clouds.
Am I thinking too much?

breathe

Far from their
wonderland a relationship
flourished , that consisted
of the layers of dramatic influences in
an unknown land while discussing
the soulful stories of their journey. What if
they met again on the rainbow bridge? It
might choke them with a few tears. Breathe! it existed.

Peace

http://writetribe.com/the-language-of-love

Come,

Let’s walk in the sun.

Alongside the roads

Where life pays

 for each breath.

Come,

Lets spread some happiness.

On crossroads.

Where the life

stops and merge.

Come,

let's enter  their world

With kindness and compassion.

Keep your hearts open.

There is so much to learn.

She is Sr. Soraya who is so fond of her geese. :) We met her when she used to take care of the kids who were mentally challenged, each with a distinctive quality of their own.

“Their parents don't want to keep them.” We could feel it in her voice.

You should have seen how her eyes twinkled when she spoke of their pain, and the pleasure she got in helping them.

One day she told me that she was getting transferred to an old age home in Old Goa.

                                                          *************

We went to meet her one afternoon. She introduced us to sister superior.

“She is Sister Fatima. She is a nurse too and takes care of our inmates.

....And sister, they are our friends from Caranzalem.” We felt connected to her the moment we met her a few years back on our daughter’s birthday. Love just flowed.

These sisters are taking care of their inmates who include old women and old nuns, a few ducks, hen and geese, some dogs,a dove that sadly went out and was eaten up by stray dogs,a parrot, beautiful flowers and old trees of Adam fruits and Chikoo. They have a vegetable garden too in the backyard.

She took us to the chapel. It was beautiful! She said, “You know,it’s not our house. This house you see, is a property of the archaeological department that has neither abandoned nor takes care. The department that is least bothered about the maintenance of the place.”

“The tall ceilings, and the doorways are so difficult to clean. And repairs?Forget about them. They stand there with pride and the dust accumulates.” I thought.

“It’s so difficult to reach them.” She said with her graceful smile.

**********

We had a sneak peek into their world. They took us upstairs in a room full of positive vibes. A Bible in a corner, a flower vase, antique furniture.

“We have our timings here. Time to pray, time to eat, time to sleep.”

Sister Soraya served us fruits, biscuits and soft drink. Sister Fatima joined us in the conversation and told us about her experiences as a nurse in a very small village that was too far from the city. “No medicines were available there. If I gave them crocin, they got better,no matter whatever the reason was, they healed themselves with faith. There are no strangers there, only God sent angels to share their pain.”
She told about the tales of deliveries she handled, all alone, in absence of medical facilities. She told about a young boy who accidentally got hurt and came to her all in blood and how she stitched his deep cut with regular needle and thread. It was her kindness and love that cured them.

You must visit her once. Her smile heals.

*************

They told us about the grass beads that they use for prayers.
“It’s so costly. We get it from Calcutta. He’s the only supplier.”
They showed us the places we never had thought of visiting otherwise. Sister Fatima took us to a window, which they called their secret place from where they saw the four hundred year old ruins that stood against the changing weathers while a part of them was shattered.

*************

We came back with a promise to meet them again soon.
 “God Bless You.”
They said with their warm smile that reached our hearts. We felt blessed. Really!

Trusting my instincts
about everything
beyond myths and realities
fears of vulnerability and
the shadowed perceptions.

...about everything
beyond judgements,
the unsaid and unheard
the beginnings and endings.

...about everything
beyond the scarlet fumes,
the cloaks and masks.
the unanswered prayers.

Beneath the luminosity of stars
The veiled desires surrender
to the careless whispers
and dreams of eternity..

Nothing # Day 18, OctPoWriMo Challenge,2013.

                                                                                                      2013 image,Amboli Ghat
Nothing was on my mind,
Till something happened,
Going round and round
Spinning in my head
Like a whirlwind
And ruined everything..

Then something happened
And nothing was
 On my mind again.

It went like a line
That formed a circle
With no ends..trapped..!

So now in nothingness
Of nothing,I relax..
And discover the exotic
Flavours of something!

Nothing really matters.
Nothing! REALLY matters.
A matter of choice..

MOMENTS..

Immersed in the feel
Flipping through the pages
A few verses irresistible
Made me forget myself..
.
It was pure pain
Not merged with pleasure
Contemplating,I feel it
While sitting in leisure..
.
Past is best forgotten
Silently,I let go..
Mixture of varied emotions
Confused state of mind..
.
Now in this moment
As I become you
Be still and allow
And dance in ecstasy..
