Night

Tell me now

What keeps you awake

In the deep dark hours of night?

I'll send across notes of joy

Catch spoonful of stars,
   -twinkling light.

It's Day 6 of #OctPoWriMo 2015

my extended family

Today, I am overflowing with gratitude and love for my extended family from my poetry community on Orkut.

Usha Ma’am , an inspiring blogger, asked me eleven questions when she nominated me for Liebster award, one of which was “How did you start blogging?”

Today I want to answer it. I want to thank Utpal ji, who wanted me to start my blog in 2009, when I knew nothing about blogging. (I still don’t know!)

He guided me step by step and also gave my blog a beautiful name “Kaleidoscope”. I’m happy that I have my space where I write without any fear. Can’t thank you enough for whatever you do for me still! Thank you bade bhaiya. :)

This reminds me of the good old orkut days when we used to write poetry, and there I learnt to take constructive criticism in a positive manner knowing it is always in my higher good. Remembering my friend, Deepti, my first online friend. I’m glad I got to meet her quite often this year. Love you my soul sis. We often wonder how can we be so similar.

Way back in 2007, Sadho asked me once, why I don’t put colours in my sketches and I still remember that conversation.  I’m glad finally after seven years, we met this year. Now that’s a different story ,he made me realise that I don’t use my smart phone smartly. Eh!
 Richa ..much love to you!

AND YES! This year, I met Rohan too!!A Bengali guy who’s allergic to fish and doesn’t like rice!

Sunita..Thank you! We used to write and post poetry in the community late in the night. I was bad with the titles and she used to give the titles to my poems. We still get together late in the night, not to write poetry but to play scrabble, sometimes though! Yes, our duet poems are getting published in an anthology, to be released in 2015.

Thank you Amiya dada for teaching me some truths of life. Thank you for your constant support. As I always say, your comments are always better than my writes.

Personally, it had been a good year, amidst some tears and smiles, some confusions and light. Sometimes life worked for me, sometimes it didn’t. But this year brought in many opportunities to grow in all aspects. I feel like thanking Sabari Chakraborty, whom I met this year in Goa and who taught me what I needed to learn in that moment.

Thanks to my blogger friends and readers for taking time to read and comment on my posts. This year Ultimate blogging challenge and OctPoWriMo was fun. Special thanks to my blogger friend Vishal, for all the motivation and support. Oh Yes, I wrote a guest post for his blog.

Thanks to one and all for your love and blessings. Stay connected! :)

Dreamers #Day 27

                                                                                                                               2014 image, Gurgaon

Driven by the impulses

Relaxing in the meadows

Ephemeral sufferings ease out

As sleep tiptoes silently

Misty eyes find relief beyond

Eclipsed senses

Radiating from the pores

Surrendering to eternity.

Magic #Day 25

Captivating spirit

Of a fascinating belief

Had a magnetic effect

That pulled me

Towards it then...
Life is magical

....and it still does unfold
Mysteries of the
silent moments,
Now.
I still believe in miracles.

Purple dreams #Day 17

honey will
of gorgeous moon
sprayed the mist
of raw love

thousand mad storms
chant deliriously
in purple forest
of my dreams.

shades and hues #Day 13

                                                                                                2012 image,Goa

When grey knocks at the door,
Forms and shapes emerge
Quietly
On the blank paper
In different hues and shades.

Lighter and darker
Stronger and brighter
strokes of painted emotions
Splashed
 in the garden
Full of dreams.

Dream diary

                                                                                                                                                   2014 image,Goa

 I saw a garden
full of bloom,
with fluttering butterflies
and the buzzing bees.
Slowly, the clouds
covered the land,
and a colourful butterfly
rested on my palm.
Some dreams are beautiful.

.. and then I felt the chills
and closed my eyes again.

I saw in the morning,
The dream had vanished
in the hazy mist
and left its’ trace behind.
I found a broken wing
on my palm.

Shimmering dew drops
shine on the grass blades
as the sun shines in all its’ glory.

silver lining

                                                                                                                            2011 image

When I sit silently and your thoughts connect with mine,
I walk on the silver linings and try to reach cloud nine.

I believe..

                                                                                                                      2013 image,Saharanpur

A thoughtful presence in my mind gleam and glow
I believe in it,but why? I just don’t know.
My world is full of dreams as I walk on air,
Life becomes pleasant with amends and repair.
.....................I believe in the folklore of mistletoe.
It did happen again, not so long ago,
When life had stopped, and I had to let it go,
It was tough to be strong and take loving care,
gleam and glow....
When in distress and there is nowhere to go,
At crossroads,we give up,or go with the flow.
I believe in goodness, and power of prayer,
That  always keep us blessed in HIS loving care.
...............I believe in Lord, and miracles he show.
 gleam and glow....

Footprints

                                                                                    2013 image,Goa
Dancing demons in smoked silence,
Waited with baited breath,as time stood still.
Darkness dawned in inked dreamscapes,
As rinsed reflections seeped in the soul.
Rest remains in mute mind.
Forsaken footprints on soaked sand
Impressed its tiny tale of being.

Tell me..

                                                                                                                   2012 image,Goa

Fizzy dreams and frozen tears!
 it’s the conspiracy
 of irrational frenzied moments.

Like a lilting wave,
When soothing sounds
become noise;
Music calms my mind.

When the flowering breeze play harp,
I listen to the old melodies.

 Tell me,
How it sounds,
When something breaks,
Within?
Does it make noise?
Or does it sound
 like a background score
of a silent movie?

 A string of thoughts
strike a chord within.
Attuned to my heartbeats,
harmoniously,
I close my eyes,
and listen to
the chirping birds
silently.

The Essence..

I like all the flavours of thought in this poetry that I wrote way back in 2010, "silent words"...its nostalgic, and most of all,it talks of words that haunt and silence that suffocates!Though time changes, whenever I go back and read these lines,I feel all the same..re-living these emotions with same intensity in The Essence. Read on..

                                                                                                   2012 image,Goa

In the darkest corners where
Best creations are processed.
Fear engulfed and
The light got dimmed.
 In some nowhere land,
From where the world
Seemed so closely knitted,
Love lost
the sight of those
Who lost themselves
In their own darkness..
Their words dissolved
In their gloom..
Their shadows
 left them with
Hardened hearts
Pseudo smiles
Agonizing pain
Immeasurable void
Forsaken miseries
 and fallen promises.
They prayed on their knees.
 HE laughed
Then quietly blessed
and whispered..
Endless wait
shall end
for the sleeping slaves of words
Till they awaken
and find their way back
to their innocence.
Rejoice!
 I am love
bathed in sunshine
I live in you
Drink from my cup
of pain and pleasure
with gratitude.
JUST BE!
In the moment..
