Goa,2015 |
Today,
the setting sun
is wearing a veil of cloud.
A dove
flies
to faraway land.
I hear sparrows chirping.
A raindrop rests
on my window
pane.
It’s drizzling.
Tiny droplets
create ripples
in water,
and in my
heart.
Dried pale leaves
float like paper boats.
A moment passes by.

I find the light drizzles more beautiful than the heavy downpour. So you kinda echoed my thoughts in these verses. Beautiful lines, Payal:)
ReplyDeleteA nice, mindful post. I am trying harder to notice the beauty around me. I wonder what I would find in a drizzle? Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteCould feel the drizzle in this soaring hot sun ;) I wish it drizzles in reality too :)

How lovely and evocative. A drop causes the most amazing process of a circle on the surface of the water.
ReplyDeletesuch simple & beautiful words yet so evocative. Very nice Payel.

nice mood :)
ReplyDeletePayal, this poem of yours is very simple yet so narrative and full of life. These lines made me nostalgic. Unsure why?
