A short trip #MondayMusings

Saharanpur,2016

There is some kind of satisfaction that I get whenever I visit Saharanpur, my hometown. Last week, it was a long weekend, and we decided to visit my parents and my inlaws. Time just flies by when we are with them.

Also this time, my husband and I thought of meeting a very good friend of mine from my school days who by chance was in the city at that time.
We were meeting after four years. The moment he saw me, he asked, “How are you? How is your health?” I don’t know why these questions surprised me. Somehow I felt good that my friend is genuinely concerned.  I guess, except my close family rarely people ask me this now. I realized how much these questions matter. Sometimes, such questions bring our attention to ourselves, especially during the times when we are dealing with some issues.

How wonderful it feels when nothing changes between friends, no matter wherever we are in our life. With some old friends time and distance doesn't matter. Just that we get involved in deeper and reflective conversations. We three had a great time together.

I am grateful for all the lovely people in my life. No matter wherever I go, my roots shall keep me grounded.

  1. I'm glad you had a good experience. I've found that when you meet old and sincere friends after a long while, it seems like you were never apart to begin with.

  2. It is blissful to return.Always.Even if it is for a short while. The flash back
brings those dust covered memories. We laugh , we cry, we get the whiff of old fragrance. I am happy that you were happy.

  3. Some friends are like that, even if the meeting happens after a long gap, that gap vanishes as soon as we meet them. Grateful for having such friends in life. :)
