"Lives lost during lockdown" - A Roseate Sonnet

When mankind became a prisoner,

Stuck at home, gripped with fear,

The roads were quiet, nature the listener,

We witnessed it last year with frozen tears.

.

Many a lives lost to the dreaded disease,

The new norms were set to bring in change,

Stats changed, in the houses, on the streets,

Locked in homes, facing the facts strange.

.

Cows, dogs and crows were seen all around,

On lifeless beaches, in greens and grounds.

.

Remembering the year that went by,

Offering us whole new learning,

Survival stories written with spirits high,

Ends they say are the new beginnings.
