In-sanity# Day 12

The flowers

 smell of love-potion

Coming from those flames

Silently burning

In the hidden stories

Burnt and spilt in

Distorted memories.

Enraptured desires

In obsession with the dark

Creeps and crawls

And flows from the eyes,

Wanting to possess

The sane mind.

Listen #Day 11

This world
is all yours..
Create with your will
the way it should be.

With love and trust
be the change.
let it reflect
your kindness
and humility.

In the face of thunder,
stay strong.
Fight with the demons
fearlessly.

Hold on to your dreams,
For dreams do come true!
Imagine, believe and act
with patience and responsibility.

Education starts at home
Listen to your conscience,
soar the skies,
Now let life be your teacher
Write your destiny.

a stilt-walker

Concentrating and confidentally performing his duty, passionately, he stood tall, with his deeply rooted extended field of vision, like those trees that never complain. He walked on his way in his fancy costume, trying to interact with the ignorant crowd. His first few steps on stilt had taught him to stay balanced and keep walking.

Mental health # Day 10

Today is World Mental Health Day first established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health. It's a day to raise awareness about mental health issues through education and advocacy. One in four adults and one in five children will experience mental illness this year. (Resource: NAMI)

Here's my acrostic for OctPoWriMo Day 10

Mind plays in dark passion

Efforts of balancing fail

Nonchalantly ignoring

These sharpened edges of disbelief

Aren’t we all crazy in our ways

Living in our own worlds?

Heightened illusions healed through

Eliminating the obstacles

And letting the light shine.

Love flows in abundance.

Traumatic imprints

Heal holistically.

little voice # Day 9

                                                                                                                                           2014 image,Gurgaon

In a moment of denial
When the blues took over
And shadows mocked in between
Tenaciously testing my will power.
“Why, oh, why?"
"Do I have to do this?"
I asked myself continuously,
Stubbornly ignoring
that little voice within
Till I couldn’t hear it anymore.

I started missing it,
I pleaded, I cried
I promised to believe
And it returned
With gifts of joy.

Creativity #Day 8

2014 image, Gurgaon

Captivating glory of full moon

Retrieved the eclipsed boundaries

Enticing silver charm

Added to the myths

That attributed to our madness

In artistic world of words

Vibrantly reflecting the moods

In the sparkling ink

Travelling together through different phases

You,my moon, have witnessed my sleepless nights.

Silence # Day 7

                                                                                                                                                                   2014 image,Pune

As I go deeper and deeper

In my thoughts

A strange silence engulfs me

I sing

I dance

I breathe

I feel free

In that golden

orb of silence.

And then

I hear the noise

I cry

I bleed  profusely

Silently..

Gasping for breath.

Deafening noise

of this venomous silence

Slowly kills me.

I miss that comforting sound

Of throbbing in my heart.

From dark to light

I travel again

One by one

The petals unfold.

I pause

I Reflect

I Learn

In this moment

Of entanglement

As I breathe in peace

And breathe out

All that doesn’t belong to me.

Reborn to relive

The purpose of cosmos.

Perfect # Day 6

In a chaotic moment
When grief speaks its’ own language
But everything seems to be fine
A zephyr arise on angel’s wings
To make the moment
Perfect for learning

season of change # Day 5

                                                                                                                                              2014 image,Gurgaon

 It’s a tedious journey
Towards eternal bliss,
From form to formless while
Dissolving all greys and black

Into a pure white light.

Reminders of renewal
At every step

Mark the season of change.

Engulfed with slight chills
And tides of melancholy
hearts crave for a little warmth.

Death is charming.
Let ego die.

Waves # Day 4

                                                                                                                                             2014 image,Goa

Revolutionary waves arise,

Once in every season

When the sea is churning

and the clouds are too full

to contain the secrets.

The whispers become noise

and then guided by an unknown force

These waves wash away

illusion of embellished facades

All man-made.

Silent sea re-awakens

And the waves create history.

The world heals and

nurses its’ wounds

the candle keeps burning

Presence # Day 3

                                                                                                                                                2013 image,Goa

It’s a matter of choice,
On life’s bent.
Acceptance shortens the distance.
Together we rejoice
being present
in slightly flavoured existence

:
On a bright sunny day
Here I dwell
In this land where metaphors breathe.
Sweet nothings all the way
In clean shells
Shine through sequined transparent sheathe.
:
Festivities galore
Hope fills me
With doses of tranquility.
Treasure in my heart’s core
Sets me free
With message of humility.

My muse # Day 2

                                                                               2014 image

When the world is fast asleep
beneath the cover of sparkling stars,
golden hearts dance
to the zephyr tunes
and bathe in moonlight.

Two is more
than a number
for  poet and poetry
as they become one
reflecting each other

Far the melancholic moon rise.
I shall make it my muse tonight
and encipher poetry
behind the clouds.
Am I thinking too much?

It's time # Day 1

                                                                                                               2013 image, Saharanpur

It's October again!

A time to break the walls

Of the shiny chrysalis
And set myself free.

It’s time,
To dive within
and break-open the boxed treasure
That lies chained in the false notions

And hold me back.

It’s time to trust
And fly free
To embrace myself

And be me!

Dream wedding

Finally they were getting married.

Few days back they gave me a curious glance when I told them that I can handle all their worries related to the preparation of this wedding.

“Time is less, and work is more. It’s not easy!” They said.

“ Have you heard of Alladin’s lamp that used to fulfil wishes? I have it. See you in the evening with the invitation designs.”

“So soon?” They were not ready to believe.

I logged in baggout and there I found most of the things available from various retailers with discounts and cash back offers. As promised, I went back in the evening with the details.

I showed them samples of embellished wedding invitations that I chose from Shopclues.
I was somehow playing a wedding planner in their wedding. They wanted to keep it simple yet memorable. Close friends and relatives had to be invited and a beach resort had to be booked for the stay and ceremonies. Everything was planned in a simple manner with attention and importance to every guest.

I had it all at my fingertips. I suggested them to book the travel tickets and hotel rooms for the guests from Yatra's site. They very well agreed. Mouth watering dishes for the guests was fixed to be arranged from FoodPanda. A beachside resort was on my list that was booked from hotels.com as the venue for the ceremonies.

...and the preparations were almost done.

Indian weddings! The ceremonies can be as grand as one wants, but handling them without hassle is another job. Taking out time to make proper arrangements right from receiving the guests,  venue, menu, rituals, reception, photography, video recording, lights, become unmanageable in today’s time for the families.

Somehow, I had less worries. I was quite sure that I’ll handle everything in a decent manner as per the budget.

****

There they rose from the shell, amidst the chants of mantras, with garlands in their hands. The bride was elegantly dressed in cream and red jarkan work lehenga from Nine colours and the groom in cream wedding sherwani purchased from craftsvilla. Apart from the dress, accessories that was chosen from the site gave the perfect look on the wedding day and could make any girl sigh. I stood there smiling as everyone was praising the beauty of the moment. Flower droppings arranged from shopclues was icing on the cake. I sat back and sipped coffee.

Photographer was taking the photographs and a video camera was installed in the centre to cover the celebration.

Everyone danced on the bhangra beats. I heaved a sigh of relief and moved to the beachside where  rest of the ceremonies had to take place. Standing on the carpet, lying on the sand, beneath the clear blue sky, where the mandap was set, well decorated, where the sound of waves would bless the newly wedded couple.
Shopping for marriage is the most time consuming activity. I looked up and thanked God for a single stop destination that helped me in making all the arrangements and ensuring deliveries without any hassle. The next morning, guests were given gifts as the token of love.

Appreciation came naturally. Unlike other celebrities wedding, Ripudaman and Shivangi's wedding was more of celebration.

P.S. This post is written in response to the initiative by BaggOut.com where the topic was, "You have been appointed the wedding planner at your favorite celebrity's wedding. Write your hypothetical experience of the same assuming that all the shopping and bookings are done through baggout."

A new day

Thoughts

“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”
–
Barbara Kingsolver
Indeed! In a given moment, sometimes, mind is flooded with thoughts, at other times, it goes blank. Some thoughts are intense and they tend to stay, rest cross the mind like a floating cloud. Writing them down in that moment on a piece of paper never hurts. If they are left unattended, they get buried in unknown depths .Rarely they come back as they were. Mostly they return, faded and blurred, powerless, and crumpled. Sometimes words swirl upright and get stuck in my throat. Those words, when flow on paper are cathartic. Papers never judge them. Fearlessly, I Iet go!
