joy

2015,Gurgaon

Exploring my depths

I found some flowers

Growing in the weeds.

Just then, I discovered

Some places

That left me confused.

Untouched memories

That were hiding

In the dark spaces

Found a safe shore.

A spark kindled

the flames of joy

It's Day 31 of #OctPoWriMo.

This was my third year of participation. Being present to the need of the hour, I lived, and relived some parts of my life, surprising myself, yet again. As always, I enjoyed this journey.

I had never seen a White Hawk before and clicked this picture out of curiosity on our way back home. I am thankful to God for these messengers who always remind me to look at a situation with higher perspective and provide clarity of vision.

Learning

2014, Gurgaon

When ghosts of the past

Raise their heads

 from the graves,

Hazy

Ornated webs

blur the mind.

Some things never end.

They go round and round

In circles

Some patterns are created

And we find ourselves trapped

in this vicious cycle

standing in that place

that once started from nowhere.

There must be something

In the place

In each case.

I turn the page

with hope and faith.

Life keeps us moving.

CLOUDS (An Acrostic)

Gurgaon, 2015

Clouds of doubt engulf the clear sky

Lifeless trails of memories keep floating by

Often I find the moon wrapped in silvery gleam

Umpteenth layer of masked conspiracy it seems.

Dreamy adventures overshadow obstinate beliefs

Sun shines in the heart and gives relief.

gleaming notes

Mussoorie, 2015

As the sun

broke the horizon,

fanciful stars

sparkled

with mischievous gleam

in the moon’s eye and

wrote quaint verses

with dew drops

on fragile petals.

Strength

Picture prompt, OctPoWriMo

Standing in the shade, looking towards the Sun

Leaning against a pillar, on a bright summer day

Sun in all its’ glory, was shining on the walls,

Day was too long, she watched the shadow play.

Walls that stood between her and her world

Play of the destiny, her treasures she gave away.

World reflected in her eyes, with rarity of thoughts,

Away she went tiptoeing around the quiet place,

Thoughts that had brought her there while connecting the dots,

Place she was standing took her back in that space

Dots were connected, and there she heaved a sigh of relief

Space was now transparent, all the demons she was ready to face.

..And then

mussoorie, 2015

And then

Black and grey

Clouds rose from the

Depths and

Engulfed the

Flowering valley.

Glass door turned hazy

Hindering clarity of vision.

In that moment

Juggling breath

Kindled the flame

Lighting it up at dusk.

Molten lava created the ground

New places were found.

Out of the blue

Pleasant petrichor intoxicated as rains

Quenched the thirst of barren lands while

Reclaiming life.

Strange shift brought it all back on track.

Tiny flowers blossomed.

Ultimately the sunshines on the autumn leaves.

Voices very clear, from near and far

Wandering in the quiet places through

Xeroxed time spans

Yield memories in

Zephyr touch.

Seascapes

2015, Mussoorie

My thoughts travel afar

along with the Sun

Right from the moment

It rises

Till it sets.

As I watch from my window sill

A leafless tree

Stands tall

In autumn.

As the tree sheds its leaves,

It leaves the mark of spring behind

on my curtains.

Bathing in the golden glow

Seascapes unravel the mysteries

of the hidden treasures

Within.

Truth and lies

Ahmedabad,2015

Do you trust me enough?

No matter what I say,

You’ll hear my words,

In your own sweet way.

So, in this simple game of life,

Leaving it all aside

Let’s live our truth

and leave behind the lies.

As the petals

float on water

silent echoes from

buried treasures

can be heard in

that secretly floods the

rocky shores.

Precious notes get

submerged in the tides.

Seasons change.

Cappuccino

Goa,2012

With the first sip,

 I found it bitter,

To make it better,

 I added some sugar

and stirred cautiously

 for some time,

In the meantime,

 I lost my rhyme.

:

It was time to indulge

In your exotic flavour

But when I tasted,

 Let, truth be told

For me , dear Cappuccino,

you had turned cold.

:

I didn’t have a choice

Either I had to take you bitter

Or I had to take you cold.

So now I leave my thoughts behind

Not to forget,

some habits are old.

:

No, it’s not a blame game

There was a genuine hurt

We all make mistakes,

we all do.

How you take it,

it’s all upto you.

:

As bunch of apologies

float on the surface

I fail to understand

What went wrong that day

Was it wrong with you dear Cappuccino

Or was it me who got carried away?

Beware

Goa, 2015

There is no place to hide.

 Beware, O’ Man,

For you know not

what all you might lose

When the mask falls off.

Watch the dance

Mussoorie, 2015

Forgetting the whats, whens, and hows

They spread their wings in joy

Watch the dance of these angels

Listen to the call of nature

Free yourself from fears

Forgetting the whats, whens, and hows

As they gently sway with the wind

Lost in their own world in a close dance

They spread their wings in joy

As they rejoice in their being

 Celebrating their precious life

Watch the dance of these angels

She

Goa, 2015

O’ stormy sea

Look at the withered flowers

That adorn her beauty

As she fights with the storm

In seemingly parallel dimensions.

Her smudged kohl

Tells a tale of

Lifeless dreams

That drained from her eyes

In her shadows

Feel the fragrance

of the scattered flowers,

As she peacefully rests

In the light’s embrace.

Poetry

2015

Swirling and whirling,

            freely in the mind,

             words find solace

on a blank page

while creating

mysterious patterns,

almost spontaneously.

Often we call it poetry.
