Strong vibes,
bring along
subtle messages
and form
images in mind.
       ****
Beyond,
the strong walls
of reasoning,
I try to listen
to my heart.
       ****
In silence,
sometimes
the heart sees
what is invisible
to the eye.

A good deed..

                                                                                           The photo prompt

While Aarush went to collect the gifts he had ordered, Sapna and Tim went to the sweet mart to get some fresh snacks and sweets for kids at orphanage. Tim asked Sapna to buy a cheese sandwich for him. While he was about to eat, he saw a small girl, dressed in rags. He gave his sandwich to her. He wiped his hands with tissue and threw it in dustbin.
Sapna: “You did a good deed Tim. I saw you sharing your sandwich.”
Tim: “Mom, why do people waste food? I saw so many plates with food in the dustbin!”

The shoe story

Little shoe Vidya Sury Wednesday Prompt
The photo prompt

From my balcony,I saw the kids playing in the park, barefoot. I still wonder, what made them  leave their shoes behind, imbued in the pain of lonely existence on the bed of fallen leaves. Maybe the bondaged feel of decency in biting shoes strapped tightly with velcro. Who knows? Many thoughts, wordless, remained incognito in the memory.
While running, they kicked the shoes, unknowingly, and one shoe found its place under the bench. Late in the evening, while returning home, they spotted it,took it out and gathered around it, as if to get a glimpse of its loneliness and to know whom it belonged to. All this while there was freaking silence, while the mischievous minds were at work.
I saw some of them, shaking their legs and tapping their shoes, to allow the comfort of letting go of the tiny pieces of creepy stones that hurt. They tried to find its' pair. Just then little Taru came with her mom, stumbling around, holding a shoe in hand. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she saw her misplaced shoe.

Little did she know

It was not always the way it looked like. She was a stranger to the outer world.By the time she understood the rules of the game, it got over! She felt helpless. The world was too fast and she was a slow learner. Little did she know that her life was about to change.

Strangers in the night

Siya was playing a perfect host to the couple whom she had given shelter on a cold wintry night as the roads were jammed due to snowfall.
“My son comes home every weekend, but this time he couldn’t come.” She said with melancholic smile while offering tea to her guests sitting by the fireplace .
She showed them some old albums. Pointing at a picture, she said,
“He’s my son who died in a road accident last week. His dad had a stroke and is bedridden.”
She was treating them as a family. They were no more strangers in the night.

It's a small world

                                                                                                                     2012 image,Goa

It's a small world,
where lost and found
 is just a game
of pain and pleasure.

Seemingly close,
but distant,
where life surprises
at every bend.

It's a small world
of open books,
brimming with
secrets and mysteries.

Where the colours
 of rainbow,
 blend and shine,
 in clouded togetherness.

When I sit silently and your thoughts connect with mine,
I walk on the silver linings and try to reach cloud nine.

My Little Sister

I was two and a half when my sister was born.
One day, while mother was in the kitchen, my little sister woke up crying. I couldn’t see her cry. Within two minutes, mom got suspicious of the silence.
She hurried in the room and found me making efforts by putting cloth in my sister’s mouth! Soon after removing cloth, she made me understand that it was the wrong way for making her stop crying.

Today, when I think about it, chills run down my spine..

She’s such a darling! I love her laughter. Wish nothing makes her cry ever!

Welcome 2014

Wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year,2014.

                                                                                                         2013 image,Goa.
On the picture are the lines from my poem that  I wrote on Jan 1, 2011.

Beneath the neon lights, the smell of smoke had started to replace the fragrant air. The shackled shelters, decorated like brides, were creating a spell. Loud noise silenced the sound of waves. It was so difficult to hear one’s own voice. Drunken dreams and promises were slipping from the tongues like sands. It seemed like the bottled lives had woke up with a fizz after a hangover. Some tears dissolved in wine glasses. The masked appearances were so confusing. If attended, they started to react differently. If not, they started to treat differently.

By the sea-shore,we stood there as silent spectators holding each other's hands, and singing "auld lang syne". As the fireworks filled the midnight sky with new aspirations, the sparks brought a twinkle in the eye, yet again.

2013 was a tough year for me and my family. Some losses are beyond measures. During the adversities I found friends for life. OctPoWriMo 2013 and Write Tribe :Festival of words-2 were the best things that happened to me. Interacting with many inspiring bloggers was a great learning experience.Looking forward to more creativity this year and get back to work too. I've promised my hubby that I'll be in office on Monday. Which Monday,is still a question! Hoping for the best. It's sad that I missed some birthdays and anniversaries of my dear ones last year. Though I don’t have a great memory, but I’ll try to remember those important days this year.
