What's up? #MondayMusings

Pune,2015
“Where were you? I wanted to tell you something!”  One of my school days friend said to me as soon as I logged in to my whatsapp account almost after a week.

“You could have called me or sent one sms. Why were you waiting for me to come online?” I simply asked. ( I often call people and send sms still..)

“ Thanks for reminding. I forgot that was an option.”

Similar conversation happened after around half an hour with another old friend.

Most of us have actually forgotten that initially phones were used to make a call. Talking to close friends without any fear of being judged always relieved us of stress.
If we are concerned, or if we need help, instead of just checking online status, we can simply send one sms or give a call. Life can be that simple.

We are technologically connected to more people these days, but are we really talking?

Reflection

It was raining incessantly. Peeling layers of piled up emotions that were hiding in unattended corners of my heart , joining letters, forming  words, connecting to my feelings, with utmost sincerity, I started writing my heart out in bits and pieces. Some words made sense, some didn’t.
Digging deep, crossing all the barriers, I discovered a city within.
..and then faint voice reached my ears, those who value their ego more, silently let them go. I strangely ignored with all my capacity, till I reached a point, where words got exhausted....so was I.... Was anyone listening?  Ignorance was never bliss to me.

#MondayMusings:The Significant Anthology

Gurgaon, 2015

Some days are exceptionally beautiful.
So happy to receive my contributor’s copy of “The Significant Anthology.” Thanks to Dr. Koshy, Reena Prasad and other team members of RS who made it happen. A very special thanks to my friend Sunita. I am feeling wonderful as my poem “Words” share space in this prestigious anthology along with other beautiful souls.

One of its kind, featuring 176 writers’ works from all over the world, it is a beautiful collection of poetry, prose, and drama. The proceeds of the book go to Autism Help Village.

I have purchased  another copy of this book from amazon.  I wish to gift it to my friend, Sr. Soraya, who works in an old age home in Goa. She’s already excited!

Read its amazing review by Michele Baron here
The book is available on Amazon

Frame of time

picture prompt

As stars collide,

Stardust sprinkle all over

On the glass floor,

Emitting bright light

Rising upwards and

dissolving slowly

In silent storm.

Shadows keep emerging,

taking shapes and forms

Rising from the violet blooms ,

Wrapped in mysterious wave,

candy dreams and golden desires

stirred up the storming passion

Fascinating colours of the

Orchids splashed all over

My imagination.

Draped in turquoise and pink

Some luminous hesitant tears,

 roll down,

and sparkle brightly

on  fertile ground.

How enchanting

Is the frame of time,

That binds me forever

In infinite love!

I indulge diligently

in collecting

 melting stars

 in transparent jars.

Today

Today I will write a poem, and spend some minutes watching the waves constantly rising and falling within.
In between are the pauses in which choices are made that hold the power to change course of everything.
It is good to stay relaxed and enjoy each moment as it unfolds. Observing closely, today I will accept all the challenges that life has to offer.
With all positivity I shall ignore a bit of others behaviour and try not to take it personally. That would lessen anxiety.
Today I will stay grateful and enjoy each and every moment to its fullest.

Alive

Not all days are the same.

Drifted by the fierce winds

 cold fumes rose from

the rusted memories

painted in burnt umber,

and covered the harmonious pasture.

Lingering between

dream and nightmare

Some thoughts slip
in the quiet
and do this to me.

Was it a dream,
Or a fake reality?

I woke up today with moist eyes.

It still makes me feel...

Alive..!

Behind her she heard screaming. Along with it came a sorrowful tide, that almost shook the ground. Standing at the point where dawn and dusk seemed to meet, she had fixed her gaze on a leafless tree growing on cold black soil. Mixed varied emotions engulfed her.

She admired the moist blanket of moss and lichen that had covered the branches of an old tree. As she turned around, she saw her body lying on ground amidst her loved ones. She wanted to return, but it was time to leave. She tried but couldn’t be heard anymore. Death had embraced her.

What matters most?

They say, “Success first then happiness”.
I wonder, what matters most? Money, power, fame?
or the ability to spread smiles and create an atmosphere full of love?
Sometimes, as success knocks at the door, grief strikes and regret creeps in taking shape of an unknown shadow that keeps lingering in mind, reflecting missed joys of life.
True success lies in achieving desired goals while walking on the path courageously without compromising morals and values, with love for work, while living lives fully.
Success does not guarantee happiness, satisfaction does! At the end, it’s just the peace of mind that matters.
