Abstraction #MondayMusings

Goa,2015

Abstraction opens up the possibilities for interpretation. Everytime, a new meaning emerges, some hidden treasures are found, some secrets are revealed, some moments are realized.

A few days back, my husband and I stopped at a restaurant on our way to Mussoorie. We saw a lady sitting there with all her painting tools amidst the beauty of the hills. I couldn’t stop myself and wanted to have a word with her. I am glad, I did!

We talked about painting, and how it helps us to understand ourselves and the situations.

She was doing figurative art, and also showed me her abstract work. I told her that I do abstract painting, and I wish I could do figurative art too.

She was a painting teacher and had left the job. As an owner of that restaurant, she invited me to sit with her and paint next time whenever I go to Doon. She says, she’ll get a company. Also, she’ll teach me to draw portraits in a way that I’ll be able to paint just about anything.

Sounds interesting! We exchanged our numbers. Just five minutes of conversation, at a place I never expected, and we are no more strangers.

Alchemy of desire

In twilight hours

As the sun slipped

Silently in the sea,

Mysterious alchemy

Created a bond,

Everlasting,

On the sands

Of time.

String of thoughts

Burnt with

 sizzling passion

Emanating the fierce fumes.

Fireworks burst and bloom within

And brings a twinkle in the eye.

Pink and Silver

2014 image, Gurgaon

Pink promises forgotten

In proving righteousness

Never-ending conflicts

Keeping compassion at bay.

:

Silvery touch of stardust gives

Immense pleasure while

Letting the dreams turn real

Velveret horizons get painted with rainbows as

Every moment becomes a hopeful reminder

Reminding me of the bond we share.

The travellers

Mussoorie, 2015

It’s a long journey

Happy hearts

On rough roads

Enjoy the ride.

Laughter,

Giggles,
Mixed with few shared tears

paint their world.

As the travellers

Decipher the hidden meanings,

Wrapped in the gifts of nature,

Effortlessly

Distances become shorter

And the journey becomes memorable.

Each passing day

Makes a difference.

Back after a love-filled most deserved break. Let me see if I can catch up. It’s Day 7 #OctPoWriMo post.

Tell me now

What keeps you awake

In the deep dark hours of night?

I'll send across notes of joy

Catch spoonful of stars,

In this fleeting moment
If I don’t speak a word
Will you understand my silence?

Listen to the
subtle undertones
of loving energy
that flows passionately
from the quiet centre
as it silently create
endless ripples.

Stay centered.

Day 5 of #OctPoWriMo

Circle of grace

Gurgaon,2015

In this circle of grace,

Metaphors unfurl,

And dreams awake

in sepia consciousness.

Rainbow iris reflects

the glazing world.

Truly magical !

Moments reflect

the joy of creation.

There are no rights

Or wrongs,

No judgements,

Simple, plain joy.

Healing happens

almost naturally.

Allow!

Close your eyes,

Stay open,

Let the magic begin.

It's Day 4 of #OcPoWriMo
I'm a write tribe pro-blogger

This too shall pass

When I begin to feel , I am almost there
and form lasting impression,
while walking with a certain belief,
some new situations
crop up and create new patterns.
  I often slip into silence.
and exhaust myself
with faint thoughts
running in the background
lacking clarity.
I remember ,
once I felt  weak
in the tight grip of shadows,
Slowly they consumed me.
There are some days
marked by mood swings.
I sit by myself to figure it out.
A sound keeps ringing in my
head,“This too shall pass.”
Avoiding the extremities
Walking somewhere in between
I hear a call to show up.

Happiness and Sadness,
Strength and weakness,
Good and bad,
they all co-exist.
Accepting myself,
I go with the flow.

Blank pages stare at me,
I fill them with
my silent words.

engraved

2015, Goa

Standing on the foothills

Of the Western Ghats

As they open the pages of

A dream diary

Their eyes begin to speak

in the monsoon.

fallen leaves

 scattered here and there

gave an impact of the storm

that just passed by.

 Waterfall

flowed through

the rocky surface
 as they engraved their love

On the stone.

An old tree became witness.

Clouds melt

and kiss the earth

as if to applaud

their sizzling chemistry.

I stop, pause, and reflect.

The time stops.

floating clouds

2015, from the flight

I step in a fairyland

Where the clouds formed castles

And then moved away

...dismantling them.

With the direction of the wind

New shapes emerged

From the integrated fragments

The child within me

Learnt to silently observe

The playful clouds.

Clouds still remain the same.

As I sit down

Beneath the night sky

In the blink of an eye

Constellations disappear.
Wrapped in a white cloud

Of consciousness

I let my imagination float

Higher and higher.

little more gratitude

2015, Delhi

I have much to be thankful for in this moment.

Thankful to God for showing me the power of positivity. How wonderful it is to listen without judgement, specially to friends who believe in us.

We are often amazed by the results when we are least confident.  Thanks to my friends for being open to receive healing and also for letting me know that it’s working for them.

My mom was on bed rest for last two months because of compressed fracture in her spine. Thank God, her life is getting back to normal.

On 18th was our wedding anniversary. It’s been 16 years of learning, of growth, of acceptance, of discovering new dimensions of love and friendship. Thank God for the beautiful bond that we share.
As it's exam time for our daughter, instead of going out for lunch or dinner, my husband and I planned to stay back and cook together. Thank God for the joy of togetherness.

..and last but not the least, Thank God for all the guidance that I receive as I make my choices throughout the day.

What's up? #MondayMusings

Pune,2015
“Where were you? I wanted to tell you something!”  One of my school days friend said to me as soon as I logged in to my whatsapp account almost after a week.

“You could have called me or sent one sms. Why were you waiting for me to come online?” I simply asked. ( I often call people and send sms still..)

“ Thanks for reminding. I forgot that was an option.”

Similar conversation happened after around half an hour with another old friend.

Most of us have actually forgotten that initially phones were used to make a call. Talking to close friends without any fear of being judged always relieved us of stress.
If we are concerned, or if we need help, instead of just checking online status, we can simply send one sms or give a call. Life can be that simple.

We are technologically connected to more people these days, but are we really talking?

Reflection

It was raining incessantly. Peeling layers of piled up emotions that were hiding in unattended corners of my heart , joining letters, forming  words, connecting to my feelings, with utmost sincerity, I started writing my heart out in bits and pieces. Some words made sense, some didn’t.
Digging deep, crossing all the barriers, I discovered a city within.
..and then faint voice reached my ears, those who value their ego more, silently let them go. I strangely ignored with all my capacity, till I reached a point, where words got exhausted....so was I.... Was anyone listening?  Ignorance was never bliss to me.

#MondayMusings:The Significant Anthology

Gurgaon, 2015

Some days are exceptionally beautiful.
So happy to receive my contributor’s copy of “The Significant Anthology.” Thanks to Dr. Koshy, Reena Prasad and other team members of RS who made it happen. A very special thanks to my friend Sunita. I am feeling wonderful as my poem “Words” share space in this prestigious anthology along with other beautiful souls.

One of its kind, featuring 176 writers’ works from all over the world, it is a beautiful collection of poetry, prose, and drama. The proceeds of the book go to Autism Help Village.

I have purchased  another copy of this book from amazon.  I wish to gift it to my friend, Sr. Soraya, who works in an old age home in Goa. She’s already excited!

Read its amazing review by Michele Baron here
The book is available on Amazon
